Knowlton Twp Fire and Rescue Company was established in 1955 by a group of Delaware Residents and currently has about 20 Active Volunteer Members.
Knowlton Twp. Fire Rescue covers 3100 residents within 26 square miles.
Including all of Knowlton Twp, Part of Hardwick Twp. Worthington State Forest, and The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Knowlton Twp. Includes the Hamlets of Columbia, Delaware, Polkville, Hainesburg, Mount Pleasant, Warrington, Centerville, and Ramseyburg.
Knowlton Twp Fire Rescue is known for the large amount of highway they cover including almost 9 miles of Interstate 80 (including one of the highest accident prone areas of highway in the state) and the end of both of State Rt 94 and State Rt 46.
KTFR extensively trains to provide the best possible service in Fire Protection, Vehicle Rescue, Technical Rescue, Hazardous Materials/conditions, and Emergency Medical Care.
KTFR responds to all incidents within the Township of Knowlton and responds Mutual aid to the surrounding area.
In Addition to emergency response Knowlton Twp. Fire Rescue provides community training, and fire prevention to township residents, the local schools and preschools, and the local home school groups.
Knowlton Twp. Fire Rescue is also heavily involved in Fundraising efforts like our Annual Chicken Dinner, Super 50/50 raffle, and annual Food truck Festival.
Knowlton Twp. Fire Rescue is always looking for volunteers to join our emergency response crews, as well as, our fundraising and support crews.
